Question

We are going to AGPNY on Saturday For DD birthday. Will the PS take a tip, or no? She said tehy don't work on gratuity so I am confused - I know it is a free service, but I would like to give her something - I know someplaces don't allow it. Does anyone know.

    Thanks

    Christine

I don't know $$ wise, but if someone says you aren't supposed to tip them and you really want to do something for her, what about your dd making her a thank you card and some cookies? Or a gift card to a place like bath and body with a thank you card made by your dd. Just thoughts of other ways to show you appreciate them, if a tip is taboo.

I believe the personal shoppers work on commission. Their job is to encourage you to buy more. As someone who works partially on commission (not for much longer!) I feel a tip is unnecessary and I would feel bad accepting one. Think of it this way - if you want to give your PS something extra, buy another couple of outfits and she'll make a little extra money. Actually, I emailed AG this question, as the Personal Shopper we used this weekend for the convention was FANTASTIC!!!! And I wanted to send her a little thank you for all her work. So when AG emailes me back, I will let you know if tipping is allowed.

No, It is a service that helps when the store is super crowded or if you know you will be doing a lot of shopping etc.

AGTeacher - Can you PM me and let me know who your PS was.

    Thanks for all the info

    Chris

Random PS question - how long have they had this service? The last time I was at AGPC was just over a year ago and at the time I didn't know anything about personal shoppers.

    Red face

Once I tried to tip my personal shopper and she said that she could get in trouble if we tipped her but if you want to do something why don't you get her an American Express gift card it is almost as good as cash and she can use it anyplace she wants
